Farida Abdel Aziz Darweesh

Farida Darweesh

Darweesh was inspired and encouraged by her late father, Professor Abdulaziz Darwish, one of the pioneers of the Impressionist Realist School. After 15 years in the engineering field, she decided to rekindle her love for art and focus on developing her talent.
In 2011, she founded “El-Marsam Art School”, an amateur school, where she taught her own curriculum covering various art teachings. The strength of her teaching method was based on her own experiences and educational journey.

She has held many exhibitions for her and her students since 2014, the most important of which are the annual exhibitions hosted by the Hanager Hall at the Egyptian Opera House.  Darweesh has also participated in many international art shows held in Egypt.
Invited by several Egyptian embassies in Europe, and with the dream of giving international  art lovers a taste of authentic Egyptian art, Darweesh, along with 3 of her proteges, took their shows to a totally new and elevated level, showcasing remarkable art through a one-of-a-kind exhibition that has become known as “Colours of Egypt”.  The tour included Paris, Madrid, Berlin, London, Rome, Vienna, Budapest and Prague.
In January of 2020, following the profound success of their exhibitions in Europe, and wanting to yet again signify Egypt’s position on the world map of art, Farida Darweesh, Dina Fahmy, Rasha Ghaleb and Farida El Kouni started a new chapter in the book of art which led to their co-founding of CLEG Art Gallery.
