The artist started his paintings with the impressionistic style, then added the expressive taste to his works, and was able to achieve great success with his distinguished style that celebrates the rich texture and expresses movement and dynamism.
In his paintings, Refaat Ahmed depicted popular neighborhoods in the countryside, in the city, and in the oases. He was fascinated by the dancing of horses, and the dancing of people in the streets, just as he was fascinated by the costumes of the people of the oases, their customs and their joys.
