A pioneer of Expressionism art in Egypt.

excellence with honors 2008.
Darweesh received his Ph.D. from “The San Fernando
Academy” in 1952. He held the position of head of the painting
department at the Faculty of Beaux Arts in 1969 and received a
special appreciation medal and the title of Bakuya from the King
of Morocco, Mohammed V in 1952.
Master’s degree in mural painting entitled (Graffiti art and its
development in America in the modern era) 2015
PhD researcher – Thesis title (Spontaneity and Intentionality in
Contemporary Mural Painting from the Perspective of
Phenomenological Philosophy and Its Impact on Researcher

Member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists
He was assigned to teach in Cairo University, Ain Shams
University, the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria and the
Leonardo da Vinci Institute in Cairo. After 1976, Darweesh was
delegated to work in Yemen to prepare a generation of artists
and founded the Faculties of Fine Arts in Yemen and Syria.
Member of the jury of the Egyptian Universities Ibdaa competition,
the eighth season of the year 2019-2020 – Ministry of Youth and
Sports.
Member of the jury of the creativity competition for Egyptian
universities, the ninth season of the year 2020-2021 – Ministry of
Youth and Sports.
