He joined the department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, 1945.
– Graduate of the American University in Cairo, Department of English Language.
Held numerous art exhibitions in Egypt and abroad.
His work is displayed at the Egyptian Opera House Museum and the Museum of
Egyptian Modern Art.
Yaknour is considered a pioneer of the contemporary Egyptian school that
derives its formation from the environment and heritage and expresses the
mood, customs, traditions and concerns of the Egyptian people in a sincere
manner that expresses the reality of life.
For artist Kamal Kanour, art is not just a shift of emotion, but a rebirth of a new
composition and a new purpose.
The artist was interested in dealing with shapes, lines and colors, and this is
evident in the color relationships that give a musical resonance in spaces,
shapes and intersecting lines that add movement and depth to his work.
