HEDAR YAZJI

is a Syrian visual artist who was born in the city of Antakya in 1946 AD . His family moved to the city of Aleppo after Turkey, in agreement with France , separated the Sanjak of Alexandretta from Syria .  He grew up and studied in the city of Aleppo . He was one of the first students at the Center for Visual Arts in 1961 AD , and the first graduate in 1963 AD . After graduating, he held his first solo exhibition at the Spring Exhibition in the city of Aleppo , and won first prize. For the exhibition of students of the Fine Arts Centers and their graduates, which was held in the city of Homs in 1964 AD . He joined the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1969 AD and won the first prize for students of the Syrian University, as it was called at that time. He was sent to study at the Higher Institute of Cinema Arts in Moscow , and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Cinema and Television Decor. In the same year, he obtained a master ‘s degree in drawing and oil painting. He spent eleven years in Moscow and then returned to Damascus . He was appointed as the director of the second Al-Mahabbah Festival in Lattakia , and then as the director of public relations at the General Authority for Radio and Television . He held the position of the Syndicate of Fine Artists in 2000 AD , and in 2001 AD he worked as the director of the Arab Center for Radio and Television Training in Damascus . He was also a member of the jury for many artistic works. Cinema and television, and a member of the Supreme Committee for Acquisitions, Artistic Works and Monuments in Syria . He died in Damascus on October 9, 2014, and was buried in the Cemetery of the Sons of the Iskenderun Brigade in the city of Lataki
