Elham Saleh Al-Ferjany
Elham Ferjany draws her artistic inspiration from the spiritual essence and the magical secrets of the ancient rock art found in Libya’s desert caves of Akaakus, as well as the decorative motifs of Ghadames’ traditional houses. Through her deep passion for the southern Libyan heritage, she has succeeded in translating the Libyan cultural legacy from the ancient to the modern era, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of Libyan history in her artworks. Her pioneering contribution led Sapienza University of Rome (La Sapienza) to recognize her as a leading figure of the Contemporary Libyan Rock Art School, according to Libyan researcher Dr. Mustafa Al-Turjuman.
Elham earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tripoli in 1996. She then pursued her Master’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Belgrade (Serbia) in 1998, and later obtained her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Alexandria (Egypt) in 2010.
